Karyu (火竜) is the penultimate boss from Robo Aleste.

Karyu is the ultimate Robo Warrior built by Tetsu Kurogane, being much bigger than his previous mechas and with a lot more firepower. This boss has three phases, during all of which it will shoot lasers to the sides at regular intervals.
During the first phase the boss will move back and forth while shooting energy blasts to the front, all while releasing various spinning bits which bounce all over the screen. During this phase the player has to destroy the large guns that the boss carries on its hands, first on the right hand then on the left one.
Once the guns are destroyed the boss will stretch its arms diagonally, shooting bullets in all directions. Once the arms are destroyed the boss finally becomes vulnerable, as it will begin swinging its tail.
